Whisky from ’18

Hello again,

After a nice walk through the mall this afternoon (it was still raining , so we couldn’t go for a walk outside), we reconvened at my Aunt and Uncle’s house yet again. I started my evening by tasting a couple of different wines, but the Molly Dooker Shiraz was my favorite again tonight.

On the menu was my Grandpa’s very favorite meal: southern fried chicken with macaroni and cheese (and salad). Ok, so my pictures are terrible, so go visit Kath’s post.

Dessert was one of the most amazing bread puddings I have ever had…with a homemade caramel bourbon sauce…

After dessert, we enjoyed an Armagnac that was distilled in 1945.

We toasted to Pop and then decided we needed another taste…

So, we enjoyed a whisky from 1918. It was good, but it sure tasted antique. Regardless, drinking alcohol that was created before prohibition was a totally cool experience.

Such a wonderful evening filled with family!!

Tomorrow is kind of up in the air. We might work out in the morning or we might try to organize one last family lunch. After that, I’m off to KERF country for the night! Be back tomorrow.
