Introducing Cam the Canon

Another rainy day here in Boston.  Boy am I glad to be warm and dry on my couch in these:

I had to leave for babysitting around 9:30 this morning so I got up a bit earlier than I would have liked to fit in a quick 30 minutes at the gym.  Even though 8AM is not that early, I felt like a zombie when I woke up due to the lack of sleep this weekend.  I chugged a cup of amaretto coffee and blasted DJ Earworm on the stair climber and I was wide awake in no time.  When I got home, I realized  I had exactly 20 minutes to shower, get ready, and inhale a bowl of puffins before departing on foot in the rain. I miss my car.  Luckily, the mall is strategically placed between my apartment and almost all destinations in the Back Bay of Boston, so I was able to walk inside for part of my commute.

I had a nice day of babysitting because one of my boys was at summer camp, so I only had to entertain the little guy. We did all of my favorite things,  i.e. listened to Puff the Magic Dragon on repeat, colored a picture of Minnie Mouse, and snuggled on the couch together.  We also enjoyed a mid-morning snack:

I also had a PB + J while the little guy was napping.

After babysitting, I ventured back out in the rain to buy this guy:

!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buying this was a BIG deal for me!  I would have rather spent this money on beautiful boots and back-to-school sweaters, but because I love my wonderful new blog readers so very much, I decided to splurge for all of you.  And, I really really needed a new camera.  The last camera I bought was in 2004 when I graduated from high school….

I’m about to enjoy this bowl of cold weather inspired baked (microwaved) cinnamon apples, shredded wheat, and vanilla yogurt and get oriented with Cam the Canon.

Enjoy the afternoon!

New cameras are the best! I know, I go through bouts of “gosh, I could really use a Garmin Forerunner but man Anthropologie is having a sale..”. I wish we had bought that point and shoot instead of the model right under it, I think that one takes much better pictures. Can’t wait to see it in action!

Also, sidenote, I LOVE Boston! I miss it a ton and need to visit. My husband has never been there! It’s about time I show him how great the city is!
