Playing Mom…Again

Howdy,

How’s it going?

My day started out with some much needed sleep. Despite some crazy thunder, I managed to snooze until 9, which felt glorious. Only two more days + a weekend of freedom before my internship begins! I’m dreading the transition to an adult schedule, but I am getting very excited about working with teenagers and having the responsibilities of a real school psychologist.

I didn’t accomplish much this morning, as I watched Rachel Ray, caught up on blog reading, and went to the Northeastern bookstore. The search for the perfect planner continues. I actually found my dream planner, complete with dividers and fun stickers, but it’s a 2011 calender and I obviously need a 2010. I also made it to the gym this morning, along with about a million other undergraduates who are back on campus. I had to wait a good ten minutes for a spinning bike, but it was worth it in the end. The only good thing about having all of the undergrads back is that spinning classes start again soon!

I threw together this lunch before I had to leave for my first day of my fall babysitting job and then ate a Larabar on the train. There’s pepper turkey under that pile of cheese, and, don’t worry, those curls are Pirate’s Booty corn sticks, not Cheetos.

My new babysitting job involves picking up a first grader from school and walking him home to play for a few hours before his parents come home. I really enjoyed the school pick up part because I got to wait with all the moms in the cafeteria and watch the end-of-the-day reunions (did I mention I love people watching?) The kids were so darn excited to see their moms (and dads) that their faces lit up and they sprinted towards their parent. My life goal is pretty much to have children, so it made me excited to be a parent. Anyway, that’s enough of the sappy stuff, the little guy (let’s just call him Ralph for simplicity’s sake) told me all about his day and then ate like 5 snacks when we got home. The time passed by quickly, so I think the job will work out nicely. I’m actually going back to watch Ralph tomorrow because his school is out for the Jewish holiday.

Our cabinets are a little low this week, due to the vacation, so dinner was a cheap favorite with feta:

Delicious as always, especially with the addition of my new favorite spice, sage. But, the real highlight of my day was this little dessert:

That would be a snicker-doodle cookie sandwich with almond butter and banana. Sweet.
Lastly, I’ve been hearing that my blog is really slow to load and the pictures are distorted/enormous. Is anyone else having this problem? I’ve tried to resize some of my images from the Quebec posts, so I’d love to know if this helps. Thanks.

I’ve had no problems with your page loading =/ But personally I’m still trying to figure out WordPress and entering in images without the same images entering twice since they’re still in my gallery?? Hmph.

Did you check in the front/back of your 2011 planner to see if they had a website where you can maybe purchase the 2010 version??

I did check the website, but they are only making the 2011 one now because its a Jan to Dec planner and 2010 is almost over:( But, I think I found one! I’m not sure what’s going on with your image loading as I haven’t had that problem. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

I haven’t noticed anything weird about the images or anything. Sounds like a fun job! I wish I could find a babysitting job to make some easy money!

Your pictures load fine for me! 🙂

It sounds like you are going to be a busy girl this Fall. I can’t wait to hear how your internship goes. Goodluck with finding a planner! Maybe you can find one online?

    I haven’t had any issues?

Love the cookie sandwich – I definitely do that with the Chocolate Chip Cookies I keep in the freezer and some TJ’s PB. Adore.
