A Whole New Meaning

Uncategorized

Friday just felt fab-u-lous! I think the weekends are going to have a whole new meaning for me:)

After work, I got a hair cut and the head massage felt sooo good. I may have finally found a hair place that I like (and can afford) in Boston.

I just got a trim, so you probably can’t tell a difference.

My hair cut was in Fenway, so afterwards, I had to walk against hundreds of people going to the Red Sox game to get to the train. It didn’t help that I was basically running so I could get to babysitting on time. I also had to stop and pick up something for dinner because there was no way I was eating another meal packed from my fridge on a Friday night. I decided to treat myself to a d. coke…it was just one of those days where caffeine at 6 PM was necessary…

I also got a burrito bowl with pulled pork. This is probably my favorite ‘fast’ food meal ever because it’s packed with flavor and it’s gi-normous:)

I enjoyed this bowl in front of the TV with Peter Pan and a 6-year-old. At this point, I’ll take whatever form of relaxation I can get.

I was finished by 9:30 and Matt met me at one of our very favorite spots in the Boston area: The Publick House.  This place is infamous for it’s beer selection. We got a really cozy seat at the bar and I basically talked Matt’s ear off for two hours because I hasn’t really told him about my first week yet.

Since I’d already had dinner, I was in the mood for a dessert-ish beer and went with a nice, thick Mocha Porter. This beer was really, really heavy, but in a fabulous way. I had to take teeny tiny sips as to not overwhelm my palette.

And then, because I absolutely couldn’t resist, I got another Southern Tier Pumking. Just as good as I remember:)

This morning, I barely made it to the 10 AM Cycle 45 at my university’s gym. This is my absolute favorite class as the student instructors are really good, the bikes are the most comfortable I’ve ever been on, and the music is really fun. At ‘adult’ gyms, I find that the instructors are sometimes a bit older and they tend to chose music from a few decades ago.. Though I enjoy new and old music, I usually find that the new stuff gets me more motivated to work hard.

I went on a huge grocery shopping extravaganza at TJ’s after spinning. Yall know I love making lunch right after a big grocery trip…

Matt went to see a boy action movie, but when he gets back, we are going out with friends to a funky little restaurant that ‘s relatively new. I’m excited!

PS: It looks like a few people have ventured over from KERF, so welcome new readers!

I was weirdly craving soda yesterday, too! I went with a Coke Zero. It tastes nice, but it usually gets overwhelming by the time I drink half the can – the carbonation gets to me.

Mmmm, I <3 Qdoba in a big way! Their food is delicious. I would kill for their guacamole!

You were right about the Harvest Moon…it was just okay. I had some Dogfish Punkin Ale tonight and it was fantastic. 🙂

Great haircut! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Fab hair – love the layers! Finding a good (and reasonable) stylist is really the most ridiculous process.

It is, and I’m finding that I’m quite picky! The one I have now is very good, but she has a lot of opinions, which is good and bad…

I find it funny that you said ”adults” gym, even though you are considered an adult. I do that too all the time! I am 24 and am in grad school as well (in industrial psychology) so I don’t consider myself a ”real adult” since I’m still in a student mode.
