Anyone have an exciting Friday? I started mine with another brew from our Just Beer collection…

The Moby D doesn’t have huge flavor but it’s dark, smooth, and malty. A good beer if you plan on having more than one drink or are trying to fit pizza in your stomach as well….

I finally made homemade crust!! I found this recipe for thin crust in my new Best of Food & Wine cookbook from Matt’s parents. It was so easy to make and came out perfect; no more TJ’S dough for me. I’d actually call this a flatbread rather than pizza because the edges were almost as crispy as a cracker. We topped the dough with olive oil, aged white cheddar, fresh figs, sage, and feta cheese and drizzled a bit of balsamic over the top.

The sage really brought out the sweetness of the figs and they both paired nicely with the simplicity of the crust. I heart the pizza concept.

We had to eat pretty quickly, because the concert we attended began on the early side. I went to see Ra Ra Riot , a group I started listening to because a good friend’s boyfriend does all the sound stuff for the band. Matt and I fell in love with their music when we saw them in concert two years ago, and we try to go see them whenever they come to town. These guys are incredible musicians and the singer has a beautiful voice; I also like cats, so I find this hilarious:

The show was awesome as usual. Hearing live music that I love always puts me in a great mood. We didn’t want the night to end after the concert, so we went next door to Jacob Wirth, a German bar with great beer and nightly sing-a-longs.

I had an Opa Opa Octoberfest. To be honest, I don’t really remember anything about the flavor, but I drank it all, so it must have been good, but not memorable.

An awesome evening it was.

This morning I went to 10 o’clock spinning, which was one of the more difficult classes I’ve been to. We did a sprint pyramid at the beginning, which was a tough start, but the class was halfway over by the time we finished the exercise. Lunch was obviously leftover fig pizza.
The weather is perfect, so I think I’m going to take a walk, and if it leads me in the direction of Newbury St, then I may just peek in some stores:) k bye.
