It’s a good thing today was pancake Tuesday or I might not have gotten out of bed this morning. My sore throat hasn’t turned into anything, but my head is heavy and headachy. I just feel really weird, and though it could be the antibiotics, I think a cold is on its way.

Work was busy busy today and my brain couldn’t keep up with my actions.

The squash continues — mashed and in the form of butternut squash chicken salad over a bed of spinach and goat. I assure you, lunch was better than it looked.

My appetite is all messed up and I only want sweet stuff, so dinner was an un-photogenic grilled banana and apple sandwich with a bowl of cereal. I’m thinking after dinner plans will involve ice cream and some Hulu before a very early bedtime. Matt just walked in the door and announced he has a “weird head thing,” so I’m guessing he’ll be joining me.  How do you guys deal with feeling sick during the work week?

On a more cheerful note, I got two exciting mid-day emails with flight confirmations from visitors: my sister and one of my best friends are both coming this fall/winter!! Until then, I’ll be on the couch. Adios.

I think I need to start something like Pancake Tuesday as well, it’s definitely hard to get out of bed when the weather is crappy and you’re not feeling so hot. The week is halfway over now, though! Hope you are feeling better!

Pancake Tuesday sounds and looks great! When I am not feeling well during the week, I try to get extra rest and increase my liquids (water, tea, etc.). I love honey citron tea which is a Korean tea. It is very soothing and can be used as a topping for toast, mixed into baked goods, etc. Hope you feel better soon 🙂

Lady, those pancakes are beyond gorgeous – I love it when people make pretty-looking things for themselves.

    Get well soon!

I find it very hard to take a day off (because “planning” a sick day involves more work that just dragging myself and getting through classes, as a teacher). As my partner says, I’m on defensive pretty much all year. October is always a brutal month, and I’m feeling tired and a bit icky already. So, I turn to Airborne (which has been proven NOT to work, but I’m a believer) and the home remedy of a hot toddy.
