The Bag Debate

Shopping

It’s so cold outside, but these flowers have been warming up my apartment all week. I’m not used to have something so delightful in my living room.

Today was great. I felt normal, got a lot accomplished at work (including finishing my first report!), and I enjoyed some free time at home. I also got re-aquatinted with the gym with an unexpected and surprisingly enjoyable run on the treadmill. Tomorrow, I’m headed to a bullying conference in the ‘burbs. Is it sad that I’m excited about sleeping in for an extra 15 minutes in the morning? Speaking of sleeping, I had a horrible tooth-related dream, which is usually a cue that I’m grinding.

Given that I was out of town this weekend, I didn’t have much time to meal plan, and my weekly cooking attempts have suffered as a result. However, I was able to make some homemade applesauce for dinner to go along a chicken sausage dog!

So I’m still searching for a bag. I’ve got my eye on this Elliot Lucca tote, but I’m just not sure if it’s THE one. I’m also considering a Longchamp (custom colors Le Pliage?) but I really was hoping to find something with a shoulder strap, so I’m hesitant. What do you guys think??

My weekend is wide-open except for a little work I have to do for my supervison class, so I’m not sure what I’ll be up to tomorrow evening.  Rumor has it a northeaster is on the way:(

I think Corporette does nice bag roundups on occasion, so you might look there and see if you find anything inspiring. Her taste tends to be a bit on the pricey side but it can be a good starting point.

As I mentioned before, I am a HUGE fan of Longchamps bags! They are so durable, but also classically attractive :).

The high school I work at (Wellesley High) has been focusing on bullying lately as well – it frustrates me to no end that some kids can be so cruel :(.

Try to stay dry out there today – my husband and I are supposed to start our move from Boston to Wellesley this afternoon, but the rain may be a deterrent!

The bullying conference was great and I’m glad to hear that other schools are working on it. Too bad about the weather for your moving day:( Good luck keeping everything dry!

I think the bag above looks a little like it came from Target, so you should save your money and just get the Target version. Even if it wears out. Then you can just get 5 more for probably the price of the expensive one. I don’t think it’s *the* one

I tend to clench my teeth at night when I’m under a lot of stress. Maybe try meditating a little bit before you go to sleep??

Hi Laura, I recently stumbled upon your blog and have been enjoying reading it.

I LOVE Longchamp bags – I think they look very stylish in a classic way. Only problem is that they’re so popular. I don’t know if it’s the same in Boston, but in London (England), they’re EVERYWHERE. For ages I couldn’t afford one, but now that I can I’m not sure I want to get one as I’m afraid of looking too fashion victim-ish.

From what I’ve heard though they’re resilient and very useful.
