Sore Arm, Sleepy Head

Uncategorized

Today was dark and cold and rainy and windy, but I didn’t really mind because I had pumpkin pancakes for breakfast

and I got to go to a fun lunch lecture on creating safe spaces for LGBTQ youth! The speaker was very powerful and her talk focused on ways for straight practitioners to provide nonjudgemental support to LGBTQ youth. I know I definitely need to do a better job of using neutral language because it’s so easy to assume students are heterosexual when inquiring about romantic relationships.

Despite the weather, I made it to CVS for a flu shot! I could  barely feel the needle, but my arm is starting to get quite sore. The pharmacist told me people are reporting extra sorness this year, possibly because the H1N1 and seasonal shot have been combined into one.

I also spent some time on the expresso bike after work. I actually find it easier to make it to the gym on gross days because I know it will be warm and dry inside.

After getting cozy in a sweatshirt, I made dinner for one. Leftover pulled chicken on a sandwich and a cranberry, pecan, apple, and blue cheese salad.

Wow, this sandwich was awesome. I must make this more often…it reminds me of NC pulled pork.
Someone’s getting sleepy, but excited for the mountains this weekend:) Night.

I basically wanted to amputate my arm post-flu shot this year.

Agree that it’s WAY easier to exercise indoors on horrible days on the premise that at least we’re not outside.

Pumpkin pancakes are my faaaavorite! Love what you’re saying about neutral language…one of the most important qualities, to me, is being nonjudgemental towards EVERYONE

    🙂

My arm was sore this time, too. Never happened before.

    Have a great trip!

I posted your blog on Expresso Bikes Facebook page. Tell you the truth, I debated for a few minutes which thumbnail picture I should post – between your profile and your dinner. The salad and sandwich look so good.
