Bluster

Cooking

The temps have finally dropped here and today was the definition of blustery. It was the kind of day that flies by before you really have time to get anything accomplished. But, the beauty of working full time is that there are four more days to check things off the list.

Given the temperature, I was more than happy to warm up with a little jog/stair master combo at the gym today. Some days exercise is just so enjoyable. Why can’t it be like that every day?

I had to throw together a quick dinner because tonight was my last internship class of the semester. Enter one of my favorite quickies: chic sausage dog + fries.

I couldn’t find sweet potatoes at TJ’s this week, so I just went with regular ones for a change of pace. These guys were tossed in olive oil and rosemary before cooking and were totally satisfying.

Dessert was pb puffins.

On my way to class, I actually spotted the first snow flurry of the year. The wind was brutal, and even my new plaid earmuffs couldn’t block the cold. It was a miserable walk, but I can officially say it’s my last winter in the North!

Class is done, the heat is on 74, and I’m on the couch watching Gossip Girl. I’d say the day was a success. Nite.

Irony: I hate running winter races because I don’t like having physically cold feet. I absolutely love coming home and running after work because I’m usually freezing. What is that all about?

Oven-fries are seriously the best dinner. Nutritionally balanced? Absolutely not. But at least you have to make them yourself 🙂

Oh, that’s an awesome quick dinner! I have some chicken sausage that I have no idea what to do with! I must try this!
