Gallows Gobbler

Uncategorized

Half days are awesome!!! I went to work and then came right home again:)

I did a quick stint on the elliptical before Kath and Kanz arrived all bundled up and ready for a walk!

We strolled down Newbury for a bit and tasted some sweeet balsamics at the Boston Olive Oil Co. before heading back home. It was so brutally cold out and now my body is itching and red with chapped skin:(

As soon as Matt arrived home from work, we put all the layers back on and made the daunting trek to the south end for dinner at the Gallows.

I was so ready for a glass of Malbec. Mmmmm.

We all shared the farmer’s cheese platter, complete with an awesome fig compote.

I had a hearty heirloom pumpkin soup as well. The verdict is still out on this one. It was really good, but not fabulous. I’ve decided I like soups with more chunks.

The main event was the gallows gobbler. Matt and I split this mountain of cranberry sauce, turkey, deconstructed stuffing, and brussels sprouts, all covered with gravy.

This was tasty, but not the best thanksgiving-ish meal I’ve had; volume wise, it hit the spot though.

An after dinner Harpoon Munick dark was shared between Kath and I at the Beehive, and then we called it a night. It’s times like this I really wish I didn’t have to work in the am. But there’s more fun to be had tomorrow!!!!!

k bye.

That’s funny, I like soup with little to no chunks 🙂 The soup looks really good! And I told Kath I’m so jealous about tasting oils and vinegars…what a fun experience!
