Heat Heaven

Uncategorized

Well, its back to the bitter cold again. I, of course, did not realize that the temperatures were dropping again (because it was so warm yesterday) and did not dress appropriately for the cold walk home this afternoon. I was frozen to the core and knew there was only one thing that would help me shake the shivers: the sauna.

HEAVENLY.

In fact, the sauna felt so great today that I fell asleep within four minutes of entering and only woke up because I heard my own breathing change from regular kind to the sleeping kind. This mini nap wasn’t such a bad thing, except that when I woke up, I had no desire to work out at all because it felt like 6 AM. I gave it a try anyway, but could only manage 15 minutes on the stair climber before I got distracted by the snow flurries and decided to call it a day.

Surprisingly, I regained my energy at home and actually got a lot of little things done, including finally sewing the buttons back on one of my coats and doing some online Christmas shopping for the fam.

Dinner consisted of Amy’s Tuscan Bean and Rice Soup…

and a mini Muenster + pepper jack grilled cheese.

Loved the salad + sandwich, but as with most canned soups, I wasn’t crazy about the Amy’s bean & rice…the flavor was just blahhh.

Matt just finished his statistics final, and I have one more IEP meeting in the morning, and then we’ll essentially be work-free until the break next week. Even though we still have to attend work, I’m hoping for a couple of super relaxing evenings before next Wednesday. After all, this is my first Christmas season without exams in as long as I can remember!

Are people getting busy right before the holidays or has relaxation-mode set in?

I am definitely still busy until next week. I have my social work master’s licensing exam tomorrow and I’m freaking out a bit 🙂 Next week though, holiday relaxation can begin.

Are you still in school or graduated? Your talk of IEP meetings makes me miss working in schools. I graduated intending to go into school social work, but got a different job.

I’m still in grad school, but I’m doing a full-time internship for the last year. Good luck with your exam!!!!!

I’m hoping to get everything done by Saturday so I can just enjoy the Christmas decor and then family once I go home. That grilled cheese sammie is calling my name, btw.
