Looking Forward

Cooking Twenties

Yo friends.

The first day back was a success. I kind of liked feeling productive again. I got reacquainted with the stair climber after work and then took a brisk walk with Matt to run a few errands. Since Matt had the day off, he cooked dinner tonight…what a treat!

He made lemon + pepper pasta with shrimp (inspired by this recipe from cooking light).

On to resolutions. To be honest, I’m not that into resolutions. The nerdy school psychologist in me believes in progress-monitoring but most resolutions aren’t defined in measurable terms so it’s impossible to track any changes. That being said, it’s difficult to translate everyday behaviors into something that’s measurable (and who has time for that?). So, since I promised a few resolutions yesterday, here are a few of my goals for twenty eleven. I’d like to think that working towards these goals will bring me closer to accomplishing the mission of my blog: to enjoy the little things and to not sweat the small stuff so that I can enjoy the precious present.
  • Drink more water (measurable!)
  • Cook something new every week (new is loosely defined here)
  • Get my first job!
  • Find a non-internet related hobby for this summer
  • Relax and not get so worked up about small obstacles
  • Stop rushing everywhere!!!!

I’ll obviously let you know how it goes…

I also think that all goals should be measurable. “Be healthy” isn’t a good goal! haha

Glad your first day back was a success. We just made a shrimp pasta recipe that is super similar to that! It was delish.
