Action-Packed

Work was busy busy today, which was stressful and exciting at the same time. It certainly made the day pass by much more quickly, but it left me feeling a little drained. I babysat late this evening, so PB + jelly was enjoyed on the run. I won’t bore you with photos, although I do think it’s a beautiful sandwich.

I managed to find the energy to have a lego battle, and once I put the kids to bed, I practiced for a scary IEP meeting I have in the morning. I’ve had about 9 minutes to relax and now I’m out to the door to catch the Duke game. It’s times like this I wonder if we are crazy for not having cable, but I guess grabbing a few beers over the course of basketball season will end up being cheaper than the whopping $60 that is cable.

Does anyone else out there choose not to pay for cable?

May the best team win:)

I think it depends on what you enjoy. If you are the type of couple that likes to stay in and snuggle, cable may be worth it. If you are the type thats never home, and enjoys going out more, it may not be worth it. What I do think is crazy are people who wont turn on their AC/Heat when they are sweltering/Freezing to save money. That’s just cheap 😉 I believe in never depriving, life is too short. 😉 I am lucky and work for the cable company and get all the channels for free!

I don’t have cable, either. Just the basic free channels. I pay for Netflix and find I get my movie and tv fix from there, plus almost all shows now play free episodes online, so my boyfriend and I hooke the laptop up to the tv and watch that way. so much cheaper!

After four-and-a-half years of no cable, we finally caved. I’m sort of cursing the fact that we didn’t invest in cable last year for the winter olympics or the world cup! We do try to not sit around and watch tv just to watch/do something.

We don’t even have a TV hooked up in our house… we do watch streaming videos online.
We’ve started a new tradition of getting a new boardgame every couple of weeks… I’m really excited to build the collection!

I gave up cable two years ago, and haven’t regretted it one bit. I can get movies on Netflix, and I spend enough screen time reading blogs anyway…

I’ve never paid for tv. I can’t even get channels via rabbit ears so no tv for me!

We just have internet – we watch most things online or on DVD, so it just wasn’t worth the extra money.

I have cable right now but never use it…but my roommate use it.

I plan on living alone next fall and I doubt I will get cable…seems like a waste! Plus I can just go to friends houses to watch TV 🙂

We do have cable, and pay almost 70 or so a month for it. We could probably do without, but we do love the DVR. We did make the choice to be a 1-tv household, which has been great. No TV in the bedroom!

We didnt have cable (beyond three channels with bunny ears) for two years, then we moved into our current residence- and low and behold, it just worked?! We have never gotten a bill, two years later, all the while with 20+ channels. I wont lie, im afraid at this point that when we move again, we wont be able to live without cable- but we will definatly be on a budget so might have to. But on the flip side, i do think that its healthier for us to stay home and watch football etc- rather then heading downtown for beers and football on mondays.. its a better balance for us to stay at home.

i don’t have cable either. i only watch a couple shows, and they are all available the next day online. also, my gym has tv’s on all of their cardio machines, so if there is something that i REALLY want to watch i can go work out while i watch!

my fiance and i are moving in together in april and i know he is not on board with being cable-less so i guess i get my hgtv and food network back! 🙂

No cable here! We have a digital attena and get all the free cdn channels and the American ones from buffalo. When we lived in montreal we had rabbit ears and got just 2 channels.
