West Coast Fever

Uncategorized

Hi Friends,

Long time no see! Thanks for all the wonderful comments, both on my post about living in the moment and Kath’s tips for taking back the rest of the week! Please excuse me for not responding to comments right away though, as I’m living in the moment here on the west coast!

The weather is a little chilly here, but it still felt wonderful to walk around in just a light coat yesterday. I spent most of the day at the conference, wishing I was out sight seeing, but I was able to take a little walk around Union Square in the late afternoon.

For cocktail hour, I gathered with school psychologists from the Massachusetts state association for wine, cheese, and a breathtaking view:

After fun conversation, my classmates and some of our significant others headed over to Limon for Peruvian cuisine. I had an incredible mojito and a surprisingly bold-tasting sangria.

Matt and I split vegetable empanadas…

braised shortribs…

and snapper + shrimp ceviche.

Once the unmentioned-on-the-menu onions were picked off of everything, all of the dishes tasted delicious. Although the flavor of the ceviche was good, I’m just not a fan of the texture.

After dinner, I tried a local oatmeal stout, but I didn’t catch the name of the brewery. We spent the rest of the night laughing with friends and it was just perfect.
Matt and I just got back from a quick run, and now the rain is setting in. I’m planning to attend two more talks at the conference and then explore the ferry building and local brewpubs.
Later:)

Ryan & I had a great meal at Moya in SOMA the last time we were in the city. If you like Ethiopian food, it is some of the best we’ve ever had. Ryan especially enjoyed the shuro.

San Fran is one of my most favorite cities and Limon is one of my favorite restaurants there! If you get a chance check out Slanted Door at the Ferry Building and the Press Club off Yerba Buena for a fun wine experience. I am actually headed there Monday and can’t wait. HAVE FUN!

Have fun! I have a couple friends who are there for the convention right now…one of them is there w/her boyfriend and just got engaged!! I wanted to make it to San Fran, but my school doesn’t have off this week and it didn’t work out so well. Planning on going to the summer conference in AC and hopefully the one in Philly next year.
