A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’

Uncategorized

I hear the shrimp season ended early in Boston this year because the shrimp men caught too many! Must be why they’ve been on sale so often. Anyway, I loved last week’s apricot chicken recipe so much (and it was so easy) that I decided to make a shrimp version this evening.

Another winner…I think this was even better than the chicken! I also think this would be great with fish or as tacos. I just love the tropical (Mediterranean?) taste of apricots. I def. need tropical in my life right now as its’ snowing and there are wind gusts up the wazoo. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is starting to see signs of spring. Hey jealousy…

Alas, beer always does the trick. Matt came home from work bearing beer because he said he couldn’t resist when he walked right by the liquor store.

One sip of this beer and I was so mad at myself for being a couple of miles away from Lagunitas and not visiting! It’s hoppy, but tastes fruity on the finish and extra carbonated? I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it….going on the list:)
Night friends.

That shrimp looks exceptional. Also, i can totally relate with the winter blues business. Here in Montana we trick ourselves every winter into thinking (around March) that spring is coming, but alas, it wont be skirt without tights season until May. Last year we got 22 inches at Easter.

Yeah dammit! I told you how awesome Lagunitas is!

Get this: they mostly make hoppy beers, and even your sister likes them. I believe she proclaimed them #1 or #2 brewery visit ever.

I can buy practically any Lagunitas beer and she’s excited to try it. You’ll love all their high alcohol beers.

Oh, and I have the recipe for LSS.

Awesome! Let’s try all of them in a tasting this summer…
