Although I’m usually glad to be home after traveling, I sometimes (ok, every time) feel a little blue upon returning from a fun weekend. So, occasionally, Matt and I like to ‘ease’ back into our routines with a post-vacation treat. Yesterday that treat was the Whole Foods hot bar.
This was one of the best combinations of salads and meats I’ve had at the old hot bar…I love it when the flavors all come together.
A beer was justified because there was lots of basketball on our non-cable tv (and that rarely happens!). I think this Moby D is the 2nd to last of our Just Beer stash from the summer.
But the best treat of the evening was the huge bag of secret oatmeal, dried cranberry? and raisin cookies that my aunt sent home with me. These are amazing and I’m so happy that they’ll be living in my freezer for the next couple of weeks (or days?)!
All and all, I’d day it was a pretty ideal Sunday.
Today, however, was not ideal. While I had an ok day at work, my afternoon was very wet. Out of nowhere, lots of snow showed up. I had a few errands to run, and then out of nowhere, I started to feel really sick. Within an hour, I had a sore throat and a headache and was on the couch watching old episodes of Sex and the City. I had planned on going to spinning, and when I called the gym to tell them I wasn’t feeling good, they essentially said they didn’t care and that I’d get a ‘no show’ on my account….two ‘no shows’ and you get kicked out of the group fitness program. Geez.
Anyway, the up-side of the situation was that I had an excuse to eat Great Harvest apple bread with peanut butter and frosted maple mini-wheats for dinner. One more episode, and then I think I’m going to set a personal record for the earliest bedtime this year.
