Human Interaction

Uncategorized

It was back to work today, and despite not feeling great, I crossed a lot of things off my list and enjoyed a few laughs with the other interns. Aside from feeling sick, the real reason I haven’t been cooking these past few days is that Matt has been away on business. I’m rarely by myself at night, so its been nice controlling the remote, but I’m ready to have human interaction back in my life. I’m a talker, especially at night!

So I thought I was feeling a lot better today and packed my gym shoes for a light sweat after babysitting. But once I arrived, I had the chills and nausea started to set in. You never know when exercise is going to make you feel better, so I attempted 20 minutes of very, very slow stair climbing. And I felt worse. So I came home and ditched my meal plan of pesto pasta for 2 big bowls of cereal. Almond milk makes me happy.

Matt just walked in and I’m excited to hear about his trip, so I’m signing off for the night. It’s just beginning to snow and it’s moments like this that I’m so thankful to be warm and cozy with my companion:)

Random, career questions, What does Matt do & what made him decide to get his MBA? , how did you decide on becoming a school counselor / psychology major? Thanks! just curious as some one in their twenties trying to define their career path 🙂

Haha…thanks for asking! Matt works for a small consulting firm that works with fortune 500 companies to help them make strategic changes through leadership development and executive training. He’s going back to school because he wants to be more involved with the actual consulting side of things and because he loves to learn (nerdy, but true!). I majored in psychology because I’m fascinated by people and loved my psych courses at Davidson. Unfortunately, I kind of just picked school psychology for superficial reasons – I thought it would be a shortcut to becoming a psychologist and I had hoped to use the degree to practice privately one day. That turned out to be a lot easier said than done, and I’m actually not sure how I’m going to use the degree in the future…I’m still trying to discover what I want to do with my life. Good luck with your own path!
