Beer Makes [My] World Go Round

Uncategorized

Words cannot describe how much I love beer. Matt and I are obviously ‘friends’ of Harpoon, so we entered our names into the invitation pot for a tasting event this evening. We were lucky enough to be chosen to attend the tasting for the new 100 barrel series: Island Creek Oyster Stout.

We arrived a bit late, but there were basically unlimited tastings of the Oyster Stout and other Harpoon beers. I had three “tastes” of the Stout in honor of the new release, along with tastes of my favorite Belgian Pale Ale and the Munich Dark.

Though I become a bit nervous around raw oysters, I felt I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try a fresh Island Creek oyster with the stout, so I slurped him down. I still prefer the cooked and/or flavored guys, but he wasn’t so bad. Tasted like the ocean!

We stuck around till the end and were able to chat with the brewer!! What a cool guy! I love this stout even more after tonight:)
Time for a very late thrown-together dinner! I’m hungry!!

When we both live in North Carolina, we seriously have to hang out. Adam and I LOVE beer too. Part of his job right now is actually working with a popular local brewer open his own brewery(he brews out of S.C. right now). It’s really neat and I’m excited because our beer budget has gone up since he started working with him. 😉

Yes!!! That’s so cool…I’d love to get involved in a small craft brewery!

In the oyster-eating pic, you look a lot like Kath.
