Seven more hours of driving and we arrived in Santa Fe just in time for lunch on the patio of the famous Inn of the Anasazi.

After a few bland beers in AZ, this nut brown tasted awesome!

Matt and I split buffalo sliders, chili fries, and tuna tacos for a late lunch snack.

Everything tasted really good, but nothing stood out (especially after how spoiled we have been over the past few days.)

Below is a pic of our b & b room: it’s very authentic and quite charming. The staff have also been really nice. After two nice resorts though, the inn felt just a bit too rustic.

I took a quick nap and then ran a mile. My cold from last week seems to have turned into a cough, so I really wasn’t feeling too hot last night. We managed to do a little walking around and then discovered live music on the plaza.

It’s sooooo beautiful here!!! The weather has been cool and breezy and I love the Spanish/European vibe of this city.

The plaza was the happening place to be, especially for dogs.

We settled into a rooftop seat at the Marble Brewery. A couple of people recommended this place, but no one mentioned it has a roof deck that overlooks the plaza!!!

I ordered five oz pours of the red ale, wildflower wheat, and the oatmeal stout. All were great! What a fun tap room.

Dinner!

I sipped on a watermelon mojito to start!

IMG_5756.JPG

The main event was prawns over New Mexican fry bread and green rice with a red chili sauce and a watermelon salad. Wow! You never known with non-traditional mexican entrees (not quesadillas, burritos, chimi’s, enchiladas), but this was unique and flavorful. The sauce was hot, but I ordered a milk:)

And once last prickly pear (in frozen form this time), because I know I can’t get these on the east coast.

Oh my gosh that B&B is too cute – I love the little rustic touches 🙂

That lunch looks pretty fabulous to me (especially those french fries!) and I’m totally with you on long day + margaritas + mexican food equaling straight to bed haha. I think just the margaritas + mexican food would do it for me!

Oh funny! I’m in Santa Fe too, for a conference, and walked the the plaza with the live music, and past Inn of Anzsari yesterday too! We had dinner at El Meson, a spanish tapas place and it was really yummy!
