Ping Pong Dance Party

Travel Twenties

Last night was a fantastic finale to an amazing weekend.  After the pool, the girls raided the grocery store to create an extensive spread for dinner.  I was in charge of making the sangria, which turned out more like margaritas.  We used an online recipe that included tequila and I think the portions were off.  It tasted wonderful, it just didn’t taste like sangria:)

Oh, and there was also a homemade mudpie complete with hand-rolled balls of cookie dough for dessert that was enjoyed around 3 am.

After dinner, we spent the night at a classic Dupont bar. The evening was full of wonderful conversation, melodious dancing, and lots of laughs.

Despite a sleepy cab ride home, we managed to rally at home with another round of appetizers and a competitive game of ping pong.

It was one of those nights that I just didn’t want to end in fear of missing out on precious moments with friends; thus, I watched the sun rise in Lizzie’s yard at 5:45 this morning. But, then I went to bed!

Naturally, I get a little sad after big reunions because gatherings that used to happen every weekend only occur a few times a year these days. So, as a treat, I bought myself dinner.

aka – I went to Whole Foods for a slice of pepperoni and a wildflower wheat (side note – this is worth a try, you can taste the honey and chamomile)

Take home lesson from the weekend: don’t let your cell phone sit in 100+ degree temperatures when you’re at the pool and then let it tumble a few inches to the ground.

Hah, I did the same thing last weekend – spent the afternoon at the pool, drunkenly dropped my phone afterward and shattered the screen. It was a $199 problem, boo. 🙁 But almost worth it for the crazy fun weekend, right? 🙂

Looks like a super fun weekend!

I loveee the pizza from WF- so yummy and huge slices, which is great considering the price there.
