The ATL

Travel Twenties

Today’s the start of yet another adventure. I’m driving Matt down to Atlanta today because he starts his internship on Monday, but I’ll have to come back to finish my last week at work. Anyone have any recommendations for things to do in Atlanta?? I hear there’s a neat festival going on in our neighborhood. I’ve haven’t spent much time there aside from the ’96 Olympics, and I’m pumped to have a weekend to explore a new place. I’ll never forgot how fun it was to explore Boston that first week we lived there. And then I realized that we had to stop pretending we were on vacation and actually cook meals to stop spending money. At least I hear Atlanta is cheaper than Boston:)

Hope yall have a great weekend! Adios.

Sunday brunch at Holman & Finch Public House. Get there at 11 to stand in line. You must order the burger!! Really good apps are: pimiento cheese, banana bread, and caramel bacon popcorn.

Empire State South is awesome for breakfast, lunch or dinner; Pizza Antico is fantastic; Shopping at Phipps and Lenox if you’re near there. Feel free to email me if you’d like some ideas. Check out a funny blog called the Quick and Dirty Dirty – it’s all about what to do in ATL

Since you guys are big beer fans, you absolutely have to try Brick Store Pub in Decatur sometime this summer. A legendary beer list, very cool atmosphere, and delicious bar fare. Its sister restaurant, Leon’s, is also in Decatur and is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta: delectable, innovative cocktails and incredible farm-to-table menu.

I’ve been enjoying your blog for several weeks. Congratulations on the engagement!

I was about to recommend downtown Decatur also! It’s definitely my favorite place to go to Atlanta. Another recommendation I have, for drinks in the area, is The Iberian Pig. Awesome classic cocktails and creative ones too (as in no really sweet girly drinks). No 246 is another restaurant in Decatur that critics and bloggers are raving about. I haven’t been yet but am dying to go again soon!

Leon’s is AMAZING too – fabulous entrees, beer list, and cocktails!

I second Leon’s! Definitely my favorite restaurant in the area. We also tried The Optimist the other day and it was awesome. It’s also very close to a fantastic beer store called Hop City. I would also recommend Cakes & Ale, Pura Vida, farm burger, and taqueria del sol for cheap tex mex.
