Thoughts from a Tuesday

Life Ramblings

Ecto just ate the previous post…let me try to remember my thoughts…

-There was a hint of fall in the air today. This is about the only time of year when I get tired of the heat.

-How do you ever decide on a wedding dress?

-Where should we move after Matt graduates?

-Fish never tastes as good at home as it does in restaurants. I should just give up.

-Jam/jelly reductions make the best sauces.

-I can’t believe I love brussel sprouts. I barely knew what they were three years ago.

-I’m already sad to leave my gym in Atlanta. But I’m so so pumped to get back to my apartment and my TV.

-Atlanta readers: don’t forget to let me know if you want to join Sunday’s meetup.

I really wish I could go to the meet-up!
    I’ve never done a jam/jelly reduction-gotta try that-excellent idea!
Finally-I never thought I would be able to find a wedding dress. I had this idea in my head of what I wanted and everything I tried on looked good and I would have been happy with it. Then I went with something in a totally new direction (lace, more form-fitting as opposed to the satin a-line I thought I would be getting) and I just felt like a bride. I felt beautiful. You will find the right one-don’t worry!

Wedding dress: You’ll know. You’ll put it on, love it sick and feel okay about only wearing it once. Just go with your gut. I know all of that is so vague, but it’s just the truth. I never really had an “idea” of what my dress would look like and so when I popped into it and paraded out, it was like a revelation. Pro tip: Bring a bouquet of flowers with to the dress shop so that you can see how the dress looks with a bouquet!

Jam reduction recipe please! Did you just pour jam into a pot and let it simmer down?!

Basically you can use any jam and the ratio is 1/4 cup jam to 2-3 tablespoons water (depending on how sweet you want it) and you just stir it and let it simmer to desired consistency on the stove top. It makes a great sauce for a lot of different things!
