Thoughts from a Thursday

Cooking Ramblings Thursday Thoughts

-I’m definitely procrastinating packing for the wedding weekend by writing this post.

-The baby kicks have been getting big this week, and Matt and I are still kind of in awe that another one is coming!!

-We are trying Sunbasket this week and I really like it!  It’s less work than Blue Apron and better quality than Hello Fresh.  I don’t think we could afford to do it every week (a friend gave me her code), but it has been a nice change compared to my usual recipes! I’ve been having trouble eating some of our to-to’s because I ate them when I had morning sickness…ha. The biggest negative is that the meals have been too spicy/flavorful for Emerson.

-Talk to me about your favorite [easy] summer craft ideas or trinkets/activities for road trips!!

-Grass is growing in our yard!!  It’s super patchy and not very thick, but I’m jus happy to see some green out there.

-I’ve been missing The Handmaid’s Tale like crazy since we finished season 2. I’m happy that I don’t have to wait long for more!!

-I’m so thankful that we have a bakery around the corner that carries a few gluten free items.  They seem to be switching it up lately because I found oatmeal cookies stuffed with icing!!!

-I’m a major jaw clencher  (years of headaches), and finally have a new mouth guard that works!!  I’ve used one from my Dallas dentist that was essentially just a barrier that I clenched through.  I recently had one specially designed so that I can’t bite my teeth together at all, and I’m feeling the tightness just fade away!

-Emerson’s last day of school was today and she’s so sad (keeps telling me “I’m going to cry” (although she didn’t).  We had such a wonderful experience this year and are so lucky to have found a spot in her school. I hope I can keep her entertained this summer!

Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend. Don’t miss out on scoring my favorite sunscreen today through Tuesday!!

My niece and nephew love sticker books where you have a blank book and at the back are the stickers that you have to peel off and place in the preceding pages. Pretty fun and not messy. Have fun at the wedding!

Car bingo is fun, too. It keeps the kids entertained by watching for certain things/objects while you’re driving. Also activity books are great, too. Hope your trip goes smoothly. 🙂

I made a felt board for my daughter to use in the car. Cut out a big piece of cardboard and cover in white felt. Then make parts of an object out of felt like the components of an ice cream cone, flowers, butterflies etc. she had fun assembling the objects and it was easy/cheap to make.
