Clearance

Clothing Shopping

When I lived in North Carolina, I wasn’t a big fan of shopping the winter clearance racks because it was already time for spring clothes. But one advantage to living in a place where it snows in April, is when the winter clothes go on sale in February, there are still many months left to pile on the layers. Recently, I’ve gotten a few great deals on winter clearance items: Gap cardigan for $13.99, white Gap button-up for $9.99, and…

Fashion Friday: Sailors + Stripes

Clothing

Good afternoon! I had a nice (but sleepy) day of work and I’m about to head out for drinks with Matt’s coworkers and then dinner at a restaurant I’ve been dying to try. But first, a new purchase I’d like to share with you!!!    I found this striped top when shopping with my grandmother last weekend and just had to have it. Horizontal stripes are everyone these days and they make me happy because they remind me of sailors.…

Fashion Friday: Is it spring yet?

Clothing Shopping

Since I had extra free time this week, I finally got the opportunity to peak into a few stores for a spring preview. I’m not quite ready to buy yet, and yall know I like to pre-shop so I make good choices. Though I saw lots of cute stuff, I actually wasn’t blown away by any of the spring collections. It’s probably because I didn’t go into Anthropologie or French Connection because I’ve learned that those two stores only leave me…

Spring Teaser

The air is fabulous. I feel like the world stopped turning for a while, and now it’s back. Too bad this weather is only temporary…tomorrow’s forecast is 34 with a wind advisory. Of course, since my stomach has a history of disagreeing with running (esp. outdoor running), I made sure…

(I) Heart Cake

Clothing

Good afternoon. So I’m out the door on the way to a bridesmaids gathering for my newly engaged friend Lauren. I was in charge of a dessert and I knew I wanted to bake something new, but I wasn’t sure what. I love cake, but I’ve actually never baked my own (well, I’ve obviously made one from a cake mix before, but never from scratch), so I decided to give it a shot. I had so much fun baking this!!!!…

PB Morning, Noon, & Night

Good evening, I’ve responded to all of your comments! It looks like I have a bit of thinking to do. Some of that thinking has already taken place…aka, during my IEP presentation to 12 other professionals today! During the meeting, my thought of the moment on the matter was that I wanted to be on the social work side of the table because we were dealing with an emotionally heavy case:( I felt drained after work so the gym didn’t…

First Frittata

Clothing Cooking

Tonight I attempted my first frittata! I followed Kath’s instructions, but mine doesn’t look as good as hers… The base was shredded chicken that I covered in pesto, and spinach! I used 2 eggs and 2 egg whites and topped it with white cheddar before moving the pan to the oven. Kath’s seemed a lot thicker than mine, so I’ll def. use more eggs (or more real eggs in the future). The chicken was a great addition, but the rest…
