Home, sweet home:) It’s so green and peaceful here. My dad is the king of produce and he had ton’s of different kinds of apples for me to choose from for breakfast this morning… It was so nice to just sit around last night and this morning! Lillian enjoyed snuggling up to Matt…females love him. My mom and I went on an awesome Target trip and I got all the stuff I can’t find at the right price in Boston:…

Blah

It’s a good thing today was pancake Tuesday or I might not have gotten out of bed this morning. My sore throat hasn’t turned into anything, but my head is heavy and headachy. I just feel really weird, and though it could be the antibiotics, I think a cold is on its way. Work was busy busy today and my brain couldn’t keep up with my actions. The squash continues — mashed and in the form of butternut squash chicken…

A Difficult Goodbye

Cooking Shopping

I can feel it coming — the first sore throat of the year:(  Hopefully it’s nothing because I’m going home on Friday!! I’ve been meaning to make chicken salad for a while because I thought it’d be good for lunches and because Matt loves it. I found some free-range organic chicken at a great price this weekend. It was on the bone, so I figured it would the perfect opportunity to put a fall twist on chicken salad.  Surprise! More…

RaRa Weekend

Clothing

We have a grey, rainy day here. The upside is that the hot temps and humidity are gone and the weekend is supposed to be beautiful. Before I tell you about my day, here’s this week’s fashion Friday: I think I look progressively more tired in each snapshot… I spent the day at a special school for children with Autism. The school was awesome and the student we observed had made incredible progress. I was amazed by the teachers’ ability…

What’s in the Stars for you?

Uncategorized

Nothing too exciting over here today. You know the Wednesday drill: work, lunch, babysitting, and dinner… Lunch was a little blah today.  I put the last of the lentil-walnut burgers in a wrap, but it needed more cheese and more sauce (we ran out of mustard) because it was too dry. The only excitment of the day was checking the mail.  Somehow Anthropologie knew that October is my birthday month and sent me this cute little pouch. It’s perfect for……

Hello Pancakes, Goodbye Lactose

Uncategorized

Pancake Wednesday is back (except I moved it to Tuesday). We finally ordered more Kodiak Cakes, a phenomenally easy and delicious whole wheat pancake mix discovered by Kath. Matt is always in charge of making the cakes because I take a while to get ready in the morning. He does a great job! I usually top one pancake with AB or PB and one with Nutella, but I switched from Nutella to this organic hazelnut butter with a more friendly…

Iron Woman

Uncategorized

I don’t iron. The last time I used my iron, I burned a hole in my carpet and then ironed the gooey burnt carpet onto a shirt. I usually throw anything with wrinkles into my dryer right before I put it on and it works just fine. However, Matt and I decided to do a load of delicates (aka nice clothes we never wash) and they came out in a big ball of tight wrinkles. So, today was the day.…

Bring on the Weekend

Clothing

Woohoooooo!!! Another week of adulthood down (not that I’m counting). This week’s lineup: Although I haven’t been good about laying out clothes, the whole dress like an adult but still feel comfortable and fashionable thing is going well. But, I may need to make a shoe purchase soon… On Fridays, the departments take turns putting on a breakfast for all of the staff. Another intern and I decided to check it out and there was a pretty impressive spread, including…

Pooped

Uncategorized

I was so productive today, that I finished all of my work by lunch time…and then I was exhausted. Enter TJ’s frozen burrito with basmati rice and salsa verde; not great, but it did the trick. I’m pooped, and by pooped I mean I’m too tired to blog (where did that phrase come from anyway?  I probably shouldn’t ask…) I’m about to make dinner and there’s a 99% chance it’s going to involve bread, peanut butter, and jelly. I’ll be…
