Weekend in the Car

Travel

This weekend: I drove to Wilmington and back for my cake tasting. And then I drove to Charlotte and back to buy my wedding dress!!! I’m just now getting home and I’m pooped. But here’s a sneak peek:) As a guest, what’s your favorite kind of wedding cake to eat (icing, filling, type of cake)??…

Wedding Weekly: Music

Wedding

The music at our wedding is VERY important to me. I’ve always imagined having a really classy band that could play all the good wedding songs at the beginning and then awesome versions of today’s hits once the crowd gets going. Sadly, when I realized that a wedding on an island (my wedding is a small gathering on Bald Head Island, NC for those who don’t know!) came with some extra expenses (i.e. delivery fees, transportation, ect), my dream band…

Wedding Weekly: Save the Date!

Twenties Wedding

They are out! Addressing the save-the-dates has been hanging over me for a while. For one, it feels like the first big step in making the wedding official, so I was nervous to put them in the mail! And two, I really couldn’t send them out until my wedding website was all ready to go. I didn’t feel comfortable revealing a website that wasn’t complete because I anticipated that many guests would never go to the site again after the…

Wedding Weekly: Bridesmaids Dresses

Shopping Twenties Wedding

I’ve spent more time looking at bridesmaids dresses than wedding dresses on the internet! There will be seven of them after-all, so it’s a very important decision! I’m finding that there is a lot of variation in terms of color, but not much variation when it comes to fabric and style. There are a million polyester/satin-looking dresses, and of course, strapless dresses galore, but there’s not a whole lot in-between. I’m totally ok with strapless, but I know not everyone…

Boston Bridesmaid

Travel

Wow. What a weekend! I traveled to Boston to be a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding. Everything appeared to go exactly as planned and I had a blast: Friday night, the groom’s parents hosted a lovely rehearsal dinner at the Nashoba Valley Winery. The setting was beautiful and the food fantastic! I sipped on red wine, but the beer was very tasty too! Dinner was a full three course meal and the winery used a lot of fresh, local ingredients!…

Wedding Weekly: Initial Planning

Wedding

I’m officially obsessed with all things wedding. Now that I’ve figured out my job for next year, I’m no longer stressed with the idea of planning a wedding! And the worst is over – we have a date, a venue, and a tentative guest list. So I’ve moved on to searching for inspiration – I’ve been spending time every night searching for bridesmaids dresses, centerpiece ideas, honeymoon resorts in Greece, wedding bands – anything wedding related, I’ve been searching for…

Bowl on a Plate

Life Travel

It comes once a week – you know it’s my fav: the Mexican bowl! Although there’s no big bowls in my sublet, so I had to eat this on a plate. Well, I was able to scoop up most of it with chips. Speaking of bowls. I love Atlanta; I love our little apartment here, but I think I’m ready to be in my own space again. It’s funny how I notice the little things about being away from home.…

Both Sets

Uncategorized

Well, it’s been a very hooot and crazy-fun weekend. A visit with both sets of parents means lots of beer drinking and also shopping for bridesmaids and mother of the groom dresses (which was a success!!) Matt’s parents are still here for the day, so I’ll post a recap when I get a moment this evening.…

Ramblings Wedding

Matt and I took an after dinner stroll last night and got into a wedding discussion and I totally forgot to blog. I couldn’t fall asleep because I had this feeling that I was forgetting something, and then I remembered that I didn’t post! Anyway, if you don’t want to hear about wedding stuff, please just tell me to shut up (or kindly skip this post). I figure I’ll need an outlet to discuss these things… Sometimes I just want…
