Weekend Distractions

Life Restaurants Weekends

We had a relaxing and fun-filled weekend, which was nice after a sad week. Matt lost a classmate and was glad to have a distraction when we hosted a taco night for one of his former co-workers + wife.  I made margaritas for everyone in an effort to quickly use up some of our liquor.  We picked up brisket from the local butcher and bought all the fixins’ for some epic tacos.  We need to do this more often!

It was such a nice evening.

Saturday was a lazy day, and mid-morning, we decided it would be good to get out of the house.  We went over to West Elm in Dumbo and looked for rug inspiration for our new bedroom. I wanted to buy everything!!!

Matt had a soccer game during nap time and then we enjoyed a night out with Davidson friends!  We went to Leyenda and devoured a bunch of small plates – ceviche, pupusas, a stuffed pepper, plantain tostadas, and guac plus creative cocktails (one came in a flaming skull!)

I hosted a mini after-party so we could get rid of more liquor:)

Sunday was a perfect weekend day because it involved sugar + yoga.  We tried a new coffee shop that sells Erin McKenna baked goods.

We tried cinnamon sugar doughnuts and cinnamon rolls and both hit the spot. It was just the right fuel (not) for a hot yoga class at my favorite studio in Brooklyn.

We spent the rest of Sunday packing and getting ready for our Thanksgiving travel.  We’re taking the train down to Matt’s parents house in Maryland. Matt especially needs some R & R, and I know we are both looking forward to some cozy family downtime. And Emerson is pumped to ride on the train and see her grandparents!

Hope you all enjoy the holiday.  I’m thankful for you:)
