Hello and Happy Earth Day!

Between Avery’s teething and staying up late to work on last week’s Beautycounter charity pop-up, I am one tired mama!  But, I’m proud to say we raised $966 for the Brooklyn Community Foundation’s COVID Response fund!!! It felt so good to press that DONATE button, so thank you to any of you who shopped for the cause.

Now if I could get Avery back to sleeping better at night.  Tooth #2 is popping through today, so I’m hoping she may be feeling better in a few days. And then I may go ahead and move her to the crib so we can do some more formal sleep training.  I’m very thankful that Emerson is an excellent sleeper and hasn’t woken up in the middle of the night since our trip to FL in January. I can’t really imagine that Avery will be the same kind of sleeper.  She’s a good napper though! And she’s loving solids and getting to sit at the table in the high chair.

Emerson seems to be adjusting to the new normal now, and is spending her mornings reading, doing Cosmic Kids, playing the Daniel Tiger or ABC Mouse App while I do a work out video, talking to Grammie or friends on Zoom, or doing an activity with me. Once Avery is up, we all take a walk, and then it’s time for lunch and a little more play time before nap/quiet time. Sometimes the minutes or hours are long, but I’m finding the days are so fast.

I went to deliver flowers to a friend yesterday and I had to strain my brain to remember how to navigate the city because I’ve driven twice in the past month. It felt great to get out, but then once I got home, I remember how nice it is that we don’t have to rush around or load kids into the car or drive in traffic these days.

Sadly, the weekends are passing by quicker than the weekdays.  We got Thai food delivered on Saturday night and did 90’s trivia with friends and it was SO much fun. I’ve been really missing social interaction and this was good for the soul. Also, I could eat red curry every single weekend because I love it so much.

What’s new out there? Are you miserable, settling in, or enjoying being at home?
