Organic/low sulfite wine – I mentioned in a previous post that I’m having more trouble with wine lately (like a whole day of being hungover after 1-2 glasses), and have tried some organic and no added sulfite wine.  It’s making a huge difference! I don’t feel like I’ve been run over by a bus after wine, I just feel thirsty (or tipsy) like a normal person!  Organic wines contain less than 10ppm natural sulfites and there are tons of great…

Ramblings Shopping

I’ve been thinking of buying a fun one-piece this year but just cannot find one that covers my behind. Why do designers assume that if one wants to cover part of her stomach that she must want to let her cheeks hang out?? Also, I’ve been trying on larges and extra larges and they still are too small. If you’re feeling generous, I’m obsessed with this organization and they are raising money for the many children you’ve probably heard about…

Teeny Tiny Sound Machine – this is a mini sound machine that turns into a blue tooth speaker.  I got it for breathing issues we’re having in the bedroom (haha), and the sound is amazing.  I use the fan setting and it reminds me of the huge window fans from my childhood. I also plan to use it when we travel, so we don’t have to tie up our phones for Emerson’s white noise Lantana hummus – I’ve tired the…

The Best Baby Stuff

Baby Shopping

Now that I’m a year+ into this whole baby thing, I wanted to compile a list of the gear that we can’t live without. Uppababy Cruz stroller – I’ve tried the Nuna Tavo, Maclaren umbrellas, and BOB (which I love for running) and nothing beats the features and maneuverability of the Cruz. Back when I was loading it in and out of the car, it was super easy to fold, relatively light weight, and so easy to use with the…

Hershel backpack – I received this at my family’s secret Santa exchange over Christmas, and have liked using it in place of my usual diaper bag. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara – I got this as a free sample at Sephora and like that it makes…

School is out and summer is here! We kicked things off with a visit from my parents! We had such a fun, relaxed trip with lots of eating and shopping. On Friday we stayed in and enjoyed drinks on the balcony. It was nice to take it easy at the end of the week and catch up with my parents. Saturday, we got up and headed south for a 3ish mile hike at the Cedar Ridge Preserve. It was hot,…

FIG & Friends in Charleston

Restaurants Shopping Travel

I had the pleasure of traveling to Charleston this weekend for my winter break! Matt and I met our good friends from Boston for a short getaway. While we picked Charleston because we thought it’d be warmish (soo cold for the south), we really wanted to go there to eat! Our friends love food as much as we do, so we did a lot of sharing! After lovely drinks on a heated roof deck called Stars, we headed to FIG…

Reebok Skyscape at Kohl’s

Clothing Shopping The Working World

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Reebok. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.” I’ve seen quite a few bloggers review the Reebok Skyscape, so I was really excited to get the opportunity to try out a pair!  I received a Kohl’s giftcard so that I could order them online. Kohl’s only had pink and black left in my size, so I…

-The sun’s out after days and its glorious. Those post-apocalyptic scenarios where the sun doesn’t shine anymore are my worse nightmare. -Matt had to travel this week, so I ate lots of bowls with toppings for dinner. My usual go-to combos over quinoa are: roasted broccoli, nuts, and veggie burger; black beans, corn, roasted sweet potatoes, avocado, salsa; mushrooms, carrots, spicy sausage, and Indian simmer sauce. This new one I had last night was incredible and included cranberries, sweet potatoes…
