Out and About

Cooking

Today was wonderful; just how I wish every day could be. I went to spinning before work, rolled into the office around 9:30, left around 1:30 and enjoyed the rest of my afternoon running errands and strolling around Boston. There was nothing going on in the office, so I just left! I went straight to the Teriyaki house on my way home to get Chinese food for one of my counseling cases (since tomorrow will be our last session and…

Art & Beer

Uncategorized

I mentioned yesterday that my Sunday afternoon involved visiting a museum and drinking some of the good stuff. The family I babysit for managed to score two free tickets to Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, and since I’ve never been, I figured I should go before I leave. What I didn’t know was that there was a breathtaking exhibit of Chihuly’s blown glass creations on display. What a treat! I’m honestly not a big fan of those 1800’s paintings of…

So, I decided that a nap was definitely in order when I got home from work. 20 minutes in the flannels felt just perfect and I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to pedal my heart out at spinning. It was a great class and I topped it off with…

Beer Makes [My] World Go Round

Uncategorized

Words cannot describe how much I love beer. Matt and I are obviously ‘friends’ of Harpoon, so we entered our names into the invitation pot for a tasting event this evening. We were lucky enough to be chosen to attend the tasting for the new 100 barrel series: Island Creek Oyster Stout. We arrived a bit late, but there were basically unlimited tastings of the Oyster Stout and other Harpoon beers. I had three “tastes” of the Stout in honor…

Sunday Stroll

Shopping

Sometimes Matt and I like to take long walks around Boston, mosey in and out of shops, and just pretend we are tourists.  I wasn’t feeling the gym today after a little bit of an upset stomach from last night  (I think my meal was a tad too rich for my wuss of a stomach), so we headed out for a long stroll this afternoon.   We ended up down by the esplanade where we parked ourselves on a bench…
