Thoughts from a Thursday

Life

– I took Emerson to the local ‘Cat Cafe’ as a fun indoor activity, and there were 28 (!) cats lounging in one room. I’ve never seen someone get so excited. But I was a little worried about the cats as Emerson squealed and charged towards them. I bet they were all rolling their eyes.

-Speaking of cats, don’t you love this label? I got a shipment from Winc (<–referral link) and enjoyed this red even more after my visit to the cafe yesterday.

-The weather is freezing outside, but I’ve really enjoyed heating my apartment to 73 and curling up on the couch. I’m soooo happy we were able to bring our sectional because its heavenly for lounging.

-I just watched a cheesy Netflix movie called The Christmas Prince and loved how light-hearted it was. A quick Google search reveals a few articles about how terrible the movie is – yet, people like me keep clicking on it!

-Emerson has already done so many neat things since moving and I love watching the joy on her face when I take her out to play. Brooklyn definitely has more to offer in terms of indoor kids activities, but I also feel more inclined to take her out when I just have to walk a few blocks versus loading up the car. When I was working, all I’d want to do on my off days is be at home, but now I feel much more energized to get out and do things.

-We are heading to NC for the holidays but it will be a quick trip this year so that Matt can get back to work. I’m looking forward to buckeyes and lounging!

Glad you hopped on the Winc train! I haven’t seen that bottle on the site yet, but it’s great. They have the best labels. I love the Wonderful Red Blend.

The buckeyes taste wonderful but gosh are the sloppy. Not sure I was meant to be a confectioner.

if you don’t mind sharing.. how are you feeling so far about being at home, compared to your experience working full or part time?

      Hi,

I think working part-time is definitely the best of both worlds, and I miss the break and getting to use my brain a bit. That being said, this move has been a big transition, and I’ve been so happy at home. I love being able to do so many cool things with Emerson and not miss out! In the long run, I think I want to work part-time. Also, staying at home with a 6 month old is so different than a toddler!
