The Algarve

Travel

Hello!

I’m popping in from Portugal to share a few photos from the first half of our trip. We’re staying at the amazing Pine Cliffs resort in the Algarve region, and have been blown away by this property! There were some mixed reviews when we researched, but we have loved everything about the resort. It’s one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever visited and the grounds are immaculate. Plus, the weather has been absolutely gorgeous.

Emerson did well on the flight, but we all only got a few hours of sleep that first night. We have spent this half of our trip relaxing, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the wonderful Portuguese cuisine and red wine! The resort is huge, and there are a lot of people here, but it never felt crowded or full. The baby pool has been empty most days, and has been like a private oasis for Matt and I to relax while Emerson splashes around.

Emerson’s eating hasn’t been the greatest, as most of the kids items are limited to pasta or chicken/fish nuggets (and she doesn’t really eat meat right now). But we’ve been filling her up at the breakfast buffet, and picked up a couple things at the local grocery store.

As everyone was posting back-to-school pictures last week, I was feeling sad that I’m not returning to work another school year. But I’m pinching myself that I get to be on this trip and spend this time with Emerson. Seeing everything through her eyes sure does make you appreciate life.

Looks amazing! My husband and I are going to the same area next year this same time and staying at Villa Joya for our anniversary– we’re excited to see Portugal as we have never been. Assume you flew into and out of Lisbon? How was the drive from there down to the Algrave?
