Thoughts from a Thursday

Life Pregnancy Ramblings Thursday Thoughts

-After returning three backpack diaper bags (Skip Hop, Land – aka a million fake versions of this “brand”, and Mina Baie), I ordered the Freshly Picked bag in Birch and think it’s the one!.  It’s very similar in size to my Hershel, but looks a little nicer for my daily bag and has more pockets, including exterior water bottle pockets which were a must! Also, you can use the 20% off coupon at Buy Buy Baby which made the price easier to swallow.

-One of the reasons I splurged on the above is because I’m celebrating the end of my contract work for my school in Dallas!  Although there may be some follow-up work (which I’d like, but not close to when baby comes), it feels good to have finished the project just in time for summer.

-I’m in this phrase where I don’t really want to eat my own cooking. Do y’all ever get that?  I would love to go out to a restaurant and order a salad, but making my own seems so gross. Same with sandwiches and anything other than snacks.

-Did I mention we are doing swimming lessons? Like many of you suggested, we signed up for the group ones for the first round, and then a few private ones at the end of the summer.  I kinda hate getting in the lukewarm water at the indoor pool, but seeing Emerson’s face makes it worth it. Also, who knew it would be so physically taxing to pull her around in the water? We’ve been going to the outdoor pool after lessons, and Em is just in heaven at this amazing toddler pool where all the moms relax under a giant umbrella.

-Emerson sat on my knee while it was propped up and injured it:(  I’m hoping a couple of rest days will fix it, but I’m bummed to add yet another ailment to the list of things that hurt.

-We are going to Bald Head for our annual beach trip and I’m so excited!!!  I want to do nothing and eat ice cream for days. I also ordered a key lime pie to bring which is one of my favorite summer desserts.

-I’m at that point where baby is big enough to really kick but small enough to move around a bunch.  I’ve laughed out loud a couple of times because of the sensations and Emerson found it hilarious when I told her that the baby was tickling my tummy from the inside. I’m also having tons of Braxton-Hicks, especially if I don’t empty my bladder on the hour. Don’t remember these starting until the 30’s last time…

-The cicadas and lightening bugs have arrived!  I’m not sure if they weren’t in Dallas at all or if our neighborhood was just too urban.  Reminds me of my childhood, and despite the humidity, I’m still so happy to be back in the south!

Now I want a key lime pie! One of my favorites and it just screams summer. I hope you guys have a wonderful trip to Bald Head. Also I hope your knee feels better asap. I often have knee pain and it’s no joke.

I can really relate to not wanting to eat your own food right now! I’m third trimester with my second and for whatever reason food at home seems SO unappealing. Makes it tricky when you want/need something ASAP. Also feel you on the earlier Braxton’s – our bodies just know what to do!

I am 31 weeks preggo and is it really too much to ask my husband to run out to whatever my fav restaurant is and pick up a giant salad every single night?? It’s 100 degrees where I live, I think it’s completely reasonable. I feel ya on the food.

I felt the same way about salads when I was pregnant – everyone else’s tasted good but mine were awful! Must be some kind of evolutionary thing…
