Thoughts from a Thursday

Thursday Thoughts

How are you all?  Lots of school decisions driving you crazy?  It seems like the last few weeks have been so hard mentally. I can’t believe I once thought this would be resolved with an 8 week lockdown:(

-Avery FINALLY dropped the 5:00AM (knock on wood) feeding so I am a brand new person.  I was not able to perform very well as a mom without feeling rested, and quality sleep is a game-changer.

-Like most people, I want to travel so much!!  Is it crazy that I’m dreaming of a trip to Ireland next summer?  I mean I’m sure COVID will still be around, but even without it, Europe with two kids is too crazy, right?

-Avery’s development is happening so fast that sometimes I don’t realize how much Emerson is changing.  She is SO grown up and I’m impressed by some of the things she observes about herself these days.  She was afraid of a cicada shell the other day. Like hysterical crying. After sleeping on it, she announced that her brain knew it was just a shell and not a real bug, and she wanted to revisit it to prove she was no longer scared. We walked by and looked again and she was totally fine.

-I asked for shower cap recommendations on Insta and someone recommended this: Blueberryiris.  I’m pretty excited that you can use it with your hair down.  Not that I’m blowing out or styling my hair much, but some day, right?

-Thanks for your thoughts on my home decor in my last post – so much to think about! My newest idea is that I’m going to paint the front door.

-Don’t miss out on this freebie peel from Sephora.  I just ordered this Fable and Main conditioner to get mine and love the smell of the conditioner.

-Give me some new takeout/date night-in ideas. Last weekend we had game night and it was a nice change of pace.

-I’m LOVING Jessica Simpson’s book and I’m going to be so sad when it’s over.  Read it to Taylor Swift’s new album!

Ireland with 2 kids should be fine! People are so welcoming there. I’m a Brit and we did US trips as a family when I was younger. Whether it will be feasible with Covid is another thing though – fingers crossed for a vaccine. I was supposed to be relocating to the US this summer for a year out but unfortunately not at the moment!!
