Spring Skincare & Makeup Refresh

Life

I thought it might be fun to share some spring favorites since the annual Friends & Family sale is coming up soon. Sign up for my newsletter if you’d like to be notified when it starts.

  • First Date Lipstick – this is the perfect pink lipstick for spring. I’m not a huge lipstick person, but I may have to pull this one out for re-entry into the world (fingers crossed) or my first real date with Matt at an outdoor restaurant.

  • Sheer Defense Facial Sunscreen – you probably heard me talk about this last year when it launched because it is the best daily sunscreen for wearing with makeup or if you are just trying to avoid that greasy face feeling you get whenever applying even the tiniest amount of sunscreen. I use the stick on my kids or for a hard core beach day (lots of sweat and water). All of Beautycounter’s sunscreens are zinc based.
  • All Bright C Serum – Here comes the sun. You’ve probably heard about the benefits of vitamin C for brighter skin. Not only does this serum work to fade brown spots and hyperpigmentation, but it actually inhibits melanin synthesis to prevent dark spots from appearing. Vitamin C can degrade quickly in beauty products, and Beautycounter worked for years to develop this combination of two forms of vitamin C in a super stable formulation. I love the texture too.
  • Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer – this is pretty much all I wear for makeup. Moisturizer, dewy coverage, and SPF all in one make this one of my all time favorite products.
  • Halo Powder Highlighter – the powder version of this is actually being discontinued (which is why it’s on major sale) so that it can be re-formulated. There’s a cream highlighter that I like too, but I use this as a bronzer/highlighter in the summer and it gives the perfect sun kissed look.

Sugarbuff Body Polish – this is amazing for washing winter skin away in preparation for shorts and tanks. It’s also great for prepping skin if you are applying a self-tanner.

How does you beauty routine change when the weather warms up?

I saw your post on IG about your jaw issue and i’m not on IG so I thought I’d leave a comment. here (you don’t need to publish it.) I had botox for TMJ and it worked well. You need to see a TMJ specialist to get a guard made if yours isn’t helping. You probably need the number 4 described here. I have one that I only need at night and it makes a world of difference.

Thank you! I do have a custom mouth guard but I seem to be gripping it and clenching harder with it in my mouth. I probably should see a specialist

You need a guard that has a bumper (idk what it’s really called) in the front that prevents your jaw from fully clenching. The jaw joint and muscles won’t fully activate when your back teeth can’t make contact.
