Meet Chester!
We’ve been toying with the idea of getting a cat for a while (wish we had done it earlier in the pandemic!). I grew up with cats (I can count 6 during my 22 years) and knew I’d like one, but wasn’t sure how the girls would do. And Matt has never had a pet! We started looking around and talking to some of the local rescues. Turns out, it’s hard to find a cat that’s a good fit for very young kids!
On a whim on Saturday, I decided to go to the Mactabby Cafe to play with some of the cats and see how I felt. I had seen one in particular on their Instagram account who apparently loved kids. Well that particular cat wanted nothing to do with me and I couldn’t even pet her. One of the staff members suggested a handsome new tuxedo who had just been rescued from a storm drain:( He was super snuggly and laid back so we took the girls back the next week. He happily sat on Emerson’s lap and we knew we’d found a gem.
He’s been settling in nicely and is so snuggly at night. And VERY tolerant of the girls touching him all the time. But he does not like noises.
Matt is definitely his favorite:)
