The Big Beautycounter Holiday Sale

Shopping Skincare & Beauty

I can’t believe the holiday season is here. We usually do a secret Santa with my family, and since I won’t be going to stores this year, I’m trying to get organized in advance. Shipping delays are also expected, so Beautycounter started the ‘Black Friday’ sale early. This is their biggest sale of the year, so it’s a great time to try new skincare or purchase gifts! Everything is 15% off with free shipping over $50. The big regimens +…

Lazy Easter Weekend

Weekends

We had a lazy [ok, most weekends are lazy, bc we can’t go anywhere] long weekend over here! Knowing we had a three day weekend was amazing and I felt like I was able to relax so much on Easter Sunday. We had nice weather on Saturday, and Matt took the girls out for a walk, so that I could have some time to myself to workout. It was fun to blast music for once! I’ve been resting a lot…

Christmas!!

Life Travel

We had a wonderful Christmas back in my hometown of Hillsborough!!  It was both exhausting and relaxing.  Exhausting because being away from home these days is tiring and the girls didn’t sleep all that well, but relaxing because there were grandparents and cousins to provide endless entertainment. The weather was gorgeous on the 24th, and we went to a local park for playing and exercise. My dad took my sister and me shopping for cowboy boots at a local shop…

Thoughts from a Thursday

Ramblings Thursday Thoughts

-Emerson is getting so into performing and reenacting scenes from movies that I think I need to send her to a school for the performing arts! -Sleeping on my stomach again is absolutely delightful. -I am loving having hot yoga back in my life.  It’s such an amazing practice for me right now –  although finding the time to go/getting out the door is hard. -Avery is growing up so fast! I can’t get over how smiley she is in…

Thanksgiving Fun

Charlotte Cooking Food Weekends

What a treat to have such a long weekend! Matt’s parents, sister, and sister’s husband arrived on Wednesday afternoon.  I was out at my PT appointment, and then went to Whole Foods for the turkey and some last minute groceries. I also picked up pumpkin pie and quiche from Sunflower Baking Company, and then a fall pie and mushroom pot pie from Move That Dough Baking Co.  Sunflower is one of my go-to’s for GF baked goods, and I decided this…

Beautycounter Holiday Gift Guide

Shopping Skincare & Beauty

Can you believe it’s almost time for the holiday season? I know it’s early November, but I wanted to share these holiday bundles with you early because they’ll likely sell out.  And, if you’re like me, I do my shopping mostly in November and try to avoid malls at all costs in December. Many of the gifts are under $50, and you can split up the sets for teacher or co-worker gifts. The smaller sized products are also a great way…

Christmas in Dallas

Cooking The Working World

Hosting Christmas in Dallas was a blast, but boy am I exhausted. Matt’s parents and sister and my parents and sister, husband, and family were all here!! Everyone arrived on Christmas Eve, so I prepped a big spread of food in the townhouse where they were staying. We were up late eating appetizers and drinking beer, hot apple cider, and egg nog (I thought the almond kind was pretty good with bourbon!). I made bbq pork shoulder in the crockpot…

Gingerbread Cups & Holiday Gatherings

Uncategorized

Oh hey Sunday. Time is flying. I can’t believe Christmas is next week!! Friday night was our usual low key evening. Matt and I grabbed beers at a cozy Irish pub and then ventured on to another bar for food – we shared mussels in a delicious tomato broth and the brisket enchiladas. I had two more parties this weekend, so I baked on Saturday! Confession: I used Trader Joe’s gingerbread cookie dough because it’s awesome and easy. I cut…

Thoughts from a Thursday

Cooking Ramblings Shopping

-The sun’s out after days and its glorious. Those post-apocalyptic scenarios where the sun doesn’t shine anymore are my worse nightmare. -Matt had to travel this week, so I ate lots of bowls with toppings for dinner. My usual go-to combos over quinoa are: roasted broccoli, nuts, and veggie burger; black beans, corn, roasted sweet potatoes, avocado, salsa; mushrooms, carrots, spicy sausage, and Indian simmer sauce. This new one I had last night was incredible and included cranberries, sweet potatoes…
