Lazy Easter Weekend

Weekends

We had a lazy [ok, most weekends are lazy, bc we can’t go anywhere] long weekend over here!

Knowing we had a three day weekend was amazing and I felt like I was able to relax so much on Easter Sunday. We had nice weather on Saturday, and Matt took the girls out for a walk, so that I could have some time to myself to workout. It was fun to blast music for once! I’ve been resting a lot more because it’s just hard to fit in workouts, so on the days I am able to exercise, it feels so good to sweat!

Em also got a personal visit from the Easter bunny (thank you to our friends for this!), who made his rounds in our neighborhood! She didn’t say anything to him, but was thrilled that he walked by our house.

We typically have a neighborhood egg hunt the day before Easter, and I was thankful that the organizer put together egg kits filled with goodies for us to pick up. So after the bunny stopped by, we had a nice little egg hunt in the backyard.

We woke up Sunday to a dreary, rainy day, but the Easter bunny did come to our house over night! (I couldn’t resist the matching baskets from Aspen + Ivy). Emerson got Elsa and Anna, a few books, a chocolate bunny, and an octopus  (aka Ursula).

And Avery seemed quite pleased with her pajamas, book, and two toys:)

We had pancakes, watched Babe, and I did 30 minutes of yoga during nap time. It was a lovely morning.

We ordered fresh shrimp though a local restaurant and Matt cooked shrimp + grits for dinner!  So good – we need to make this more often!

I also ordered a GF cookie dough cake from Bravo Bakery because she was offering $18 mini cakes and I’m trying to support small businesses each week.  And look at it!!! So pretty.

Sunday was also Emerson’s half birthday, so cake seemed appropriate.

I hope you were able to find some joy this weekend!
