Thoughts from a Thursday

Ramblings

I’ve been really into J Crew Mercantile since I discovered it in Dallas.  Matt and I stopped by the outlets last weekend and I snagged this dress plus sandals and earrings (I keep buying studs – will I be able to wear dangle earrings again soon?).

Speaking of shopping, where can I buy good, white V-neck tees? I used to buy them at Target, but now they are that clingy, sheer fabric.  I want a thick tee that won’t stick to me.

Emerson’s passport arrived. The picture is hilarious. We’ve got a busy summer of visitors and travel, starting with Matt’s parents this weekend. Where are y’all traveling this summer?

Let’s talk about sandboxes – I’ve taken Emerson to the giant one here a few times and was excited to go a lot this summer.  But then another parent told me the rats get in them at night and spread weird germs. Is this true or a little exaggerated?

I can’t believe how much Em is growing and changing. In the past two weeks or so, she’s starting picking up new words every couple of days. She’ll look at me with such a serious look, and then pair together two or three words to tell me something. It’s amazing when I finally figure out what she’s saying! This mental leap has come with sleep regression though, and we’re up between 6:00 and 6:30 everyday now:(

It’s hard to believe this would have been the last week of the school year at my old job.  Time is moving so fast, yet so slow.  It makes me sad to think I could have finished another year rather than leaving in the middle of the school year.

On the upside, I’ve decided Brooklyn is the most amazing place to live in the summer.  I’ve been spending so much time down by the water and love the cool sea air and watching the boats go by.  I keep having flashbacks to when I lived in Boston and was a nanny during the summer. I spent so much time along the esplanade!

Hope y’all enjoy the long weekend.

I like Gap for white tshirts. The ones I ordered last summer had a good weight to them.

Your little Emerson is such a cutie. Love the passport photo. Try Everlane for t shirts. They have great quality basics.

We’ve been playing in NYC sandboxes in Central Park (where there are definitely some rats) consistently for the last 2 years and no issues that I know of.

Uniqlo’s supima tshirts are not sheer and have a soft and comfortable fit. They are also budget-friendly.
